About Us

The Jaffari Islamic Youth (JIY) is a non-profit organization, branched out from the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Toronto (ISIJ). We are a group of dedicated volunteers helping to serve the youth and facilitate an area where the youth can become the leaders of tomorrow.

The central location for JIY is at our new community centre The Jaffari Community Centre (JCC), which includes a lecture hall, gymnasium, state of the art office, and much more amenities.  The JCC is still undergoing construction however Inshallah in the summer of 2010 JIY will open the doors to their new office as well as a public youth lounge for community use.

The goals of JIY are to bring the focus back onto our youth and provide them with opportunities, which they can carry on through their lives as well as pass on for generations to come.  JIY is all about meeting and exceeding the expectations of the youth and focusing on bringing youth groups together on a global and worldwide perspective.

As a community, one of our main goals is to enable our youth to strive to become the leaders of tomorrow. How do we define a leader? One who has the ability to be a positive role model and to help guide them in ways that will unite our community as Muslims.

Over the years JIY has acquired over 500 youth members ranging from ages 8-25 years old. Our members have been established between 5 different communities situated in Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Hamilton, and London, Ontario.  Our dedicated members are the pillars of the community and JIY is there to serve and support their needs.
