The Ahlul Bayt Islamic Centre Madrasah operates under the Ahlul Bayt Islamic Centre. The Madrasah began in February 1998 at the Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario with two classes consisting of just 9 students. The Madrasah currently has approximately 60 students registered in 6 class levels with 8 regular teachers and up to 6 supply teachers. The Madrasah is run every Sunday morning from mid-September to mid-June for 3.5 hours. The Madrasah is run at the Wheable Adult School with access to 6 classrooms, a staff room, the washrooms and the gymnasium where the students play during the recess. Understanding of Quran, Quran Recitation and Deen (Fiqh, Tareekh and Akhlaq) are taught at the Madrasah that concludes every Sunday with Zuhr and Asr salaat.

The Ahlul Bayt Islamic Centre has adopted the Shia Ithna Asheri Madressa Curriculum that can be found on the internet at www.madressa.net. This curriculum covers eleven years of class work and is very well organized.

The Madrasah has also adopted the Madrasah Handbook issued by the Islamic Education Board of NASIMCO and, the Handbook and all the registration forms have been customized specifically for our Madrasah.

Quran recitation / memorization competitions are planned and students are further encouraged through various activities to write essays, poetry, Quranic calligraphy, and research papers.

We recognize students and teachers at a graduation ceremony held at the end of each Madrasah year that is followed by a picnic for all students and parents, including special guests.

The Madrasah is managed by the Principal and the Secretary. Regular monthly meetings are held with the teachers to ensure the Madrasah is operating effectively, there is adequate communication and issues, if any, are addressed on a timely basis.
